Family Night at the UBC

Join Davis County Extension Horticulture Agent JayDee Gunnell to learn about cool and warm season crops, fertilizer needs, pest and disease control, and best of all — how and when to harvest. Cost is $5 per person. Pre-register by calling 801-451-3403.

Hogle Zoo’s Party for the Planet

Utah's Hogle Zoo, 2600 East Sunnyside Ave., Salt Lake City
The UBC joins the Hogle Zoo, along with zoos and aquariums across the country, to throw a Party for the Planet. We’ll be there with other community groups with activities and entertainment to celebrate caring for the Earth.

Extension Sustainable Living and Water Resources Specialist Mike Dietz teaches how to minimize your impact on local waters. Calculate how much water your home’s roof could allow you to collect, and explore options for storing and using harvested water.

Do-It-Yourself Landscape Design

Thursdays, May 8 – 29, 7 - 8 pm
Utah House, 920 S. 50 W., Kaysville
Davis County Extension Horticulture Agent JayDee Gunnell teaches this four-part course that will educate and motivate you to design your landscape right the first time. Cost is $20 per person. Pre-register by calling 801-451-3403.

Live Green Sustainability Fair

May 10, 10 am – 6 pm
Salt Lake City Library Square, 210 E. 400 S., Salt Lake City
Look for us at this fair, sponsored by the SLC Downtown Alliance. The 5th Annual Live Green Sustainable Living Festival brings together visitors, sustainable products and businesses, community advocates, builders and architects, live music and eco-activities for children.

Spring Plant Sale

Friday, May 23, 4 - 6 pm & Saturday, May 24, 10 am - 2 pm
Ogden Botanical Gardens, 1750 Monroe Blvd., Ogden
The UBC and Ogden Botanical Gardens join forces for a plant sale that will get your landscape off to a great start or give it the boost it needs. Master Gardeners will be on hand to answer questions and offer advice. Proceeds support work at both gardens.
