
The Utah Botanical Center and Utah House offer several programs which teach boy and girl scouts about the world around them while helping them earn badges. For most of the Merit Badge Workshops that we offer, all of the requirements for the badge are completed during the one-day workshop. To sign up for a Scout Merit Badge Workshop, please contact Jayne Mulford at 801-544-3089 or jayne.mulford@usu.edu. All Workshops are held at the Utah House located at 920 South 50 West, Kaysville.
Merit Badge Workshop Policy
- Payment is required at time of registration
- Workshop payments are nonrefundable unless arrangements have been made two weeks prior to any Merit Badge Workshop
- Payment is non transferable

Cost: $30.00 per scout, per workshop with the exception of Environmental Science which is $35.00 per scout

Girl Scout Workshops:
The Girl Scout classes offered by the Utah House and Utah Botanical Center are three hour workshops designed to cover all of the requirements for each badge.

Bird Study Backpack:
A backpack filled with equipment and information for studying local bird life is available for cub scouts and brownies. The Bird Study Backpack includes materials, and information to help leaders and scouts explore the near-by wetland areas. Each pack contains field glasses, field guides and enough supplies for 10-12 scouts to share. Leader-directed activities take 30 minutes to an hour. A Bird Study Backpack can be checked out Monday - Friday 1-5pm & Saturday 10am-2pm. ($6/pack). Also fun for families! For availability contact the Utah House at (801)544-3089.
Eagle Scout & Service Projects:
UBC and UH have a variety of opportunities for eagle scout and service projects. All on-site service projects must be coordinated through the Davis County Extension office at (801) 451-3402.
