Utah Master Gardener Program

Did you always want to learn more about gardening? Do you want to help the community with your gardening knowledge?

Now's your chance. To become certified as a USU Extension Master Gardener Volunteer, you complete 40 hours of class time and 40 hours of volunteer service.

Training covers the following subjects:
• Plant Science
• Entomology
• Fruits & Vegetables
• Integrated Pest Management
• Landscape Design
• Soils & Fertilizers
• Trees, Shrubs & Flowers
• Turfgrass
• Water Wise Landscape
• Weed Science

Once classes are complete, 40 hours volunteer service are required. Areas of volunteer service include:

• Plant Diagnostics Clinics and phones
• Speakers Bureau
• Saturday Morning Gardening Series
• Water Conservation Education & Evaluations
• Grow Units in Elementary Schools
• Fairs & Festivals
• Senior Citizen workshops
• UBC & Utah House projects (weeding & transplanting)
• and more.
